Mitigation Benefits of Roof Greening and Park Greening on Urban Heat Island Effect

- Introduction
Due to the limited amount of land left in the city that can be converted into green space, roof greening and park greening have become one of the most promising factors for using planting to slow down the urban heat island effect.
The analysis results show that roof greening in summer helps to reduce the maximum temperature by about 1.6 oC, and it also has a mitigation benefit of 0.26 oC on average. The cooling function of the park can reach an average of 1.5 oC; the maximum value is 6.1 oC.
